MEA Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences provides a forum for publishing original peer-reviewed research articles and review articles by MEA Engineering College which contributes significantly in the field of engineering and applied sciences.

The content of MEA includes advanced topics in the following disciplines like computer science and engineering, civil engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, information technology and mathematics.

MEAJEAS follows double blind peer review system for ensuring the quality and suitability of the manuscript submitted and the targeted audience of different engineering streams and applied sciences.

The authors should submit original manuscript and that work described has not been published before or not under the consideration for publication anywhere else.

Author Guidelines

During submission of a manuscript, the authors should declare that no conflict of interest is there for the authors or the responsible authorities at the institute where the work has been carried out. The manuscript for submission should not be published before and not under the consideration for publication anywhere. The authors will be asked to comply with journal’s policies regarding formatting and ethics as mentioned in the author guidelines, otherwise it cannot be proceed for review. When the author receives the revision of the manuscript from the reviewers are asked to communicate a response letter with the revision of manuscript. Upon the acceptance of the manuscript the authors are asked to fill and transfer the copyright. After that the author will receive the page proof for review with respect to the formatting and grammatical mistakes. When the corrected page proofs are received at the Editor, he will recommend the manuscript for publication.



Corresponding Author

The author who will be exclusive for communication with journal at all stages of publication and post publication are clearly designated as corresponding author. Communication details of such author are asked to provide in the manuscript itself.

Permissions

The manuscript which contains the text, tables or figures the have been published already are essential to attain approval from the copyright owner(s) and the permission need to be included when the authors submitting the manuscript.

Languages

As the official language of our journal is English, the manuscript must be prepared in English. Both American and British spelling usage are admissible.

Title page

The tile page of the manuscript should include:

  • Name(s) of the author(s)
  • A brief and informative Title
  • Address(es) and affiliation(s) of the author(s)
  • E-mail address and phone number of corresponding Author

Scientific and technical articles strictly follow this format: Title; Abstract; Keywords; Introduction; Survey of Existing Solutions; Problem Design; Methodology and Results; Conclusion; Acknowledgements; References

Title and Abstract

A brief and informative abstract is essential for a maximum length of 100 words. The abstract should include the research proposal, methods, valuable results and conclusions. It should present separately from the article and keep it as stand alone.

Keywords and Abbreviations

A three to five keywords are permitted for the manuscript. Each keyword represents one single concept. Usage of “and” or “of” should be avoided. The general keywords which are meaningless should be avoided. Abbreviations in the manuscript should be noted.

Text formatting
  • Text formatting should be done in MEA Journal format.
  • Use a normal, plain double column text with 10pt Times New Roman font.
  • Should not use space bar for indents instead use tab command.
  • To make tables, use table functions.
  • Use equation editor for Equations.
Tables
  • The Tables in the manuscript should be cited in serial order.
  • All the tables should be numbered using Roman Numerals.
  • The Table name should be mentioned on the top of the Table.
  • Footnotes to tables should be specified using superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks) for essential values and other statistical information and comprised beneath the table body.
Artwork Formats

The images in the manuscript are asked to convert into EPS or TIFF formats. When the author uses TIFF format, it will be advisable to use 300 dpi for color or grey scale images. A minimum of 1000 dpi will be advisable for Bit mapped line drawings and 500 dpi is essential for bit mapped line/half-tone (color or grey scale images).

Acknowledgements

A separate section should have before the reference list for the Acknowledgements of people, grants, funds etc. Authors must name the funding Organizations in full.

Data references

The works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication only should include in the list of references. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text.

MEAJEAS editorial team is committed to safeguard the standards of ethical behavior in every steps of the paper publication process and following Guidelines are given for our Editors, Authors and Reviewers.

Publication Ethics for Journal Editors

Editors are accountable to ensure the quality of articles published in the journal. Editors are expected to be fair in discharging their duties, without discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, religion or political beliefs.

Editors should be free and fair in making decisions on which content to publish considering merely the quality and aptness for the journal. Editors are liable to justify any fundamental deviation from the defined processes on peer review and other things.

All manuscripts submissions should be handled in a fair, unbiased and timely manner and preserve utmost confidentiality. Reviewers’ identities are to be protected.

Editors are duty-bound to educate new editorial board members with guidelines on everything that is expected of them and also to keep prevailing members updated on any change in policies and for new developments.

A system is to be in place for editors to deal with conflict of interest of various stakeholders like authors, reviewers, editorial board members and editors themselves.

Publication Ethics for Journal Authors

Declaration should be made by authors that all work in their submitted paper is original, and proper citation or acknowledgment is made on content from other sources to avoid plagiarism. It is the duty of authors to ensure that submitted paper does not contain any defamatory matter or infringe any intellectual property rights or any other rights of any third party.

Authors’ listing must accurately reflect who carried out the research and prepared article, and the order of authorship is to be determined through consensus among all authors. All authors should be alert of the submission of their contribution to the journal and agree to corresponding author signing an IPR form on their behalf.

Authors should ensure that their manuscript as submitted is not under consideration (or accepted for publication) elsewhere.

For funded research papers the source of funding for research project should be properly listed. Authors should declare any potential conflicts of interest relating to a specific article.

Authors should inform the editor in case of any significant error in their published article, and need to work with the editor to publish an erratum, addendum or retraction where necessary.

Publication Ethics for Journal Article Reviewers

Reviewers should be committed to ensure the quality of published article by reviewing the manuscript with care, consideration and objectivity, in a timely manner.

Reviewers should inform the journal editor about any suspected plagiarism.

Reviewers should declare any potential conflicts of interest relating to a specific article or author.

Reviewer should respect the confidentiality of the peer review process and should refrain from using material obtained during the peer review process for their own or another’s advantage, or to disadvantage or discredit others.
