Prof. Icy P C has Masters of Architecture degree in Construction Management with 2nd Rank from Rachana Sansad Project Management Institute, Mumbai and Bachelors of Architecture degree from Regional Engineering College, Calicut (Presently known as National Institute of Technology Calicut). She is a dedicated educationalist and practicing architect with keen interest in Construction Management having experience of 15 years in teaching and over 16 years in professional practice. She is very much committed to professionalism, ready to work hard, with attention to quality.
She is a Certified Registered Architect by Council of Architecture, Associate member of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), International Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Student member of The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH). She is the office bearer of IIA Kannur Centre as the Joint Secretary for the term 2018 – 2019. She has designed and executed various projects of diverse scales in different parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in India and designed various residential projects of diverse scales in United States of America.
She was a member of B. Arch. Syllabus committee of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University; a State Government University for the State of Kerala. She has also performed the duties of Coordinator of B. Arch. Combined I & II to X semesters Engg. Degree Examinations for the academic year 2015 – 2016 and 2016 – 2017 appointed by The Controller of Examinations, University of Calicut.
She has over 10 years experience as a faculty member at MES School of Architecture, Kuttippuram and 3 years experience as an ad hoc faculty at National Institute of Technology Calicut. Her teaching philosophy is based on the belief that great teaching consists of two main elements: first, motivating the students by being passionate about the subject and second, encouraging them to actively learn the material through class participation and research. In her teaching experience, she has tried to not simply convey the material, but to help students understand the insights behind design decisions and interact with each other which will lead to better managed building construction practices.
She has taken charge as The Principal of proposed MEA College of Architecture, Perinthalmanna on 25th January 2018.
