The proposed MEA College of Architecture at Perinthalmanna is promoted by Muslim Educational Association (MEA) which is going to be the second institution under the management. The MEA Engineering College is the first institution, which has been functioning successfully from 2002. The college has applied for affiliation to University of Calicut and for approval from Council of Architecture.

1.   Background of the society

Muslim Educational Association (MEA) was formed in the year 2001 with the aim to establish educational institutions for the benefit and welfare of the society in common. It also aims to organize the functions, especially for improving morality, spirituality, precept, among the society in general especially among the students studying in Materialistic Schools. Its registered office is at Pallikkuth, Faizabad, P. O. Pattikkad, Perinthalmanna, Malappuram Dt. and currently operating from the MEA Engineering College Campus at Perinthalmanna.

Marhoom Panakkad Mohammedali Shihab Thangal, who is the first charismatic President of MEA, had a fascinating dream to build institutions with top most facilities and highest educational quality. After his demise, the present head Panakkad Hydar Ali Shihab Thangal follows his path to fulfill his dream. MEA established it first institution and the second self-financing engineering college in Malappuram district namely MEA Engineering College in the year 2002, which is committed to provide excellent and value-based education with a flair for ethics and professionalism. The College is governed by the Muslim Educational Association (MEA) sponsored by the “Samastha Kerala Jam Iyyathul Ulma”, a society instituted by top class intellectuals of the Muslim community.

2.   Development plan for the college

The management is planning to utilize the available facilities at the Civil Block for the operations associated with the college of Architecture in the first year.  The surplus land (4.5 acres) available at the north east corner of the campus will be utilized for developing the new campus of MEA College of Architecture. Detailed design of the proposed campus is under progress. The construction of the new campus will be completed within 3 years time.

3.   Support facilities

Initially, the support facilities are shared with the existing MEA Engineering College. The college has sufficient support facilities to fulfill the requirement of Architecture College. Campus Infrastructural Facility includes Auditorium, Masjid, Daycare, Playground, Board Room, Seminar Halls, Canteen and College Store. The college has solar power plant and electrical power backup facility.

4.   Student amenities

The college will be having dedicated library facilities at the Civil Block. It will be sharing the students’ amenities facilities like Information Center, Campus WiFi, Gents Hostel, Ladies Hostel, Medical facilities, career guidance and counseling facilities, placement cell and Transportation with the Engineering College. The networking requirements of the entire campus are managed by Campus Networking Cell (CNC) with support from the technical staff. The college has dedicated exam cell, which deals with the internal as well as the university examinations.

5.   Recruitment of faculty

The college has identified the required faculty for the smooth functioning of first year classes as per the Council of Architecture regulations. The details of faculty identified are as follows.
